  A man and woman rush out of the back of one the cars, their faces filled with terror. The woman has tears staining her cheeks. I recognize the man instantly as Delaney’s dad. His eyes lock on mine and he glares.

  My stomach knots. Getting them to trust me isn’t going to be easy, but I have to. It’s my only chance of getting Delaney back. And I’m determined to do whatever it takes.
